Monday 11th November marks the beginning of Anti-Bullying Week. This week, we unite to raise awareness about the importance of standing up against bullying in all its forms.
We at FGR proudly support the Anti-Bullying Alliance. Their mission aligns with our values, as we believe in a zero-tolerance approach to bullying. By working alongside the Anti-Bullying Alliance, we’re committed to fostering an environment where every individual feels safe, valued, and understood. Together, we’re standing up to create change. Please see the link to their website for further information - Anti-Bullying Week 2024: Choose Respect
What is Bullying? Bullying is any behaviour intended to hurt, intimidate, or undermine another person. It can happen face-to-face, online, or behind someone’s back. At Forest Green Rovers, we stand against all forms of bullying and work to create a positive environment for all.
Why Speak Up? Silence can sometimes feel easier, but staying quiet allows bullying to continue. By speaking up, you protect yourself, your teammates, and the integrity of our team. Remember: every voice counts, and together, we are stronger.
Bullying has no place in our community. Its impact goes beyond the individual, affecting teammates, friends, and even family members. Bullying damages trust and camaraderie, which are at the heart of everything we do. At FGR Academy, we aim to build a supportive environment where everyone can feel confident, respected, and part of a strong, unified team. Let’s continue to work together to create a space where everyone can feel proud to be themselves, knowing they are valued for who they are.
Be a Supportive Teammate. Support and respect each other on and off the field. Look out for each other, listen, and offer help if a teammate seems down. A supportive team creates a safe place for everyone to thrive. Bullying can deeply affect a person’s mental and emotional well-being, so if you ever notice anyone whether it’s a teammate, friend, or fellow Academy member displaying signs of a mood change or withdrawing from group activities, please let our staff know. Small gestures of support can make a significant difference. Let’s work together to create a caring community where everyone can thrive.
