Southend United are hosting 'A Game for Barks' this weekend in memory of former player Chris Barker.

We tragically lost Barks, who was FGR U18s manager at the time, at the start of 2020, but his memory lives on with all those who knew him.

Six former FGR Academy players who worked with Chris Barker are set to take to the field at Roots Hall alongside his former teammates on Saturday, with money being raised for South East and Central Essex Mind.

Vaughn Covil, Dylan Morgan, Sam Hendy, Dan Jones, Isiah Jones and Dan Ogunleye will all be in action and you can make a donation HERE.

Chris Barker’s brother Richie has been confirmed as the opposition team’s manager while his son, Charlie, a young professional at Charlton Athletic, will also play.

Tickets, which are priced at £5 adults and £1 concessions, are available from the Shrimpers Trust website.
