Forest Green Rovers has revealed the club’s 2018-2020 Hummel home and away kits.
The new kits are FGR’s first from the Danish sportswear brand and are 100% bespoke designs for the club’s second season in the Football League.
Unlike many clubs – the Forest Green Rovers kits will be worn for two seasons – making them greener for the planet – and lighter on the wallet for fans – retailing at the same price as last season’s kit.
The home shirt features the club’s famous green and black hoops, with chevrons down the sleeves and a rubberised FGR badge. The home shorts are green with Hummel designs down both legs and an FGR badge on the right leg. The matching green socks have a black turnover top, with chevrons down the front.
The away kit is the club’s first ever all black strip, with a stunning green trim and matching Hummel chevrons down the shirt, shorts and socks.
The iconic skull and crossbones insignia of the marine conservation charity Sea Shepherd will once again appear on the back of the shirts, below the number.
A star is printed above the player name to signify the club’s promotion to the Football League in 2017, with two stars greyed-out to represent the chairman Dale Vince’s ambition to reach the Championship in the coming seasons.
Hummel’s BeeCool performance sports fabric is designed to aid the players in achieving maximum performance on the field, with vented mesh panels helping to regulate player temperature throughout the game.
The brand are responsible for some of the most iconic kits in football history and currently supply kits for the Danish national team, the Afghanistan national team, Middlesbrough, Fleetwood and Rangers.
Due to continued production delays by Hummel that impact FGR and other clubs wearing its kits, the new strip will be available to pre-order from the FGR Online Club Shop later this week, ahead of the club’s first game of the season.
