Forest Green Rovers extended their winless streak to six games, as they lost 2-1 to Walsall.
Rory Holden returned from a long spell on the sidelines to put Walsall ahead inside 10 minutes before captain James Clarke doubled their advantage after the hour mark.
Jordan Moore-Taylor did get one back for the visitors, but it was too little too late.
Just as he did on Easter Monday, Mark Cooper made four changes to his side.
Chris Stokes, Dom Bernard, Elliott Whitehouse and Josh Davison made way, as Aaron Collins, Odin Bailey, Scott Wagstaff and Baily Cargill earned a starting spot.
Rovers could well have had the dream start to proceedings at the Banks's Stadium with just 11 seconds on the clock, Jake Young charging down the Walsall backline from kick-off and coming away with the ball, only to see his effort charged down.
With just five minutes on the clock, Young had another opportunity in the hosts' box, somehow finding the space to turn before firing over the bar.
Less than a minute later, the Saddlers went ahead.
Walsall won the ball back as Rovers attempted to clear, and Holden was slotted through to finish with ease to Luke McGee's right.
Wagstaff tried to pull Rovers level just shy of the half-hour mark as he burst into the area, but his left-footed shot was all too comfortable for goalkeeper Jack Rose.
Just moments into the second half, Rovers were lucky to stay just one goal behind as Josh Gordon brought down a cross from the left before planting an effort over the bar.
Five minutes later, Emmanuel Osadebe latched onto a cross at the back post but fired his half-volley over the bar.
As the hour-mark passed, Rovers had Cargill to thank for keeping the score at 1-0 as his put in a last-ditch challenge to deny Tyreik Wright in the area.
The Rovers resistance wouldn't last forever though as defender Clarke lashed home a second after the ball broke loose in the FGR box after 65 minutes.
Moore-Taylor handed Cooper's men a route back into it after 73 minutes as he got a head to Collins' corner to nod home at the near post.
With the fourth official's board signalling eight additional minutes, Forest Green piled on the pressure.
Young went close as he powered into the area from the left before Odin Bailey's dancing feet allowed him to test Rose.
A Bailey cross almost allowed Young a last-gasp equaliser, but he couldn't get the ball out of his feet.
