Forest Green continued their unbeaten away record with a 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe at Sands Venue Stadium.

Rob Edwards made three changes to the starting line-up from last weekend's defeat to Swindon Town, with Jake Young starting his first game of the season, while Ebou Adams returns from international duty. Baily Cargill also came back into the side, replacing Dan Sweeney who missed out through injury.

Rovers were fortunate to survive an early scare after the home side were awarded a free-kick, following a foul on Jake Scrimshaw. Left-back Mason O'Malley stepped up from 20-yards out, but fired over the bar.

Neil Cox's side continued their bright start by forcing Luke McGee into action. With Ryan Loft bearing down on goal, the Rovers stopper was equal to the towering striker's effort from close range.

For the visitors, it took until just after the hour mark to create their first clear-cut opportunity. Ben Stevenson hugged the by-line as he marauded into the area, before chipping a ball into the box which was struck onto the post from within the six-yard box.

Edwards' side came flying out of the blocks in the second half - and looked to stamp their authority on the encounter. Jamille Matt raced into the area just before the hour mark, and was pulled down - with referee Declan Bourne pointing straight to the spot. The Rovers skipper coolly dispatched his eighth goal of the campaign to put his side ahead.

Moments later - and the travelling fans were sent into raptures once again. Kane Wilson got the better of George Taft to send a cross into the penalty area - and on his return to the starting line-up, Ebou Adams leaped at the far post to nod into the back of the net.

Scunthorpe were fighting - and they weren't going down without a fight. Ryan Loft's presence inside the area caused problems, forcing Luke McGee to pull off an oustanding stop to deny him from close range.
