MK Dons came from behind to beat Rovers 2-1 at The Bolt New Lawn after a double from Mo Eisa.

Will Grigg had a great chance to open the scoring for the visitors but Brandon Cooper was there to save the day with a brilliant challenge to stop the striker from converting.

Shortly after, new man Amadou Bakayoko went into the book as his mistimed challenge on Jack Tucker saw him shown a yellow card.

It took until the half-hour mark for the scoring to be opened as Amadou Bakayoko was sent through on goal and after a scramble in the six-yard area, Myles Peart-Harris was there to poke it home.

Just before half time a ball from Jonathon Leko down the right-hand side was switched to Eisa who brought it down comfortably and placed the ball past Ross Doohan to equalise.

A couple of minutes later, the Dons nearly had a quickfire double after a cross from Eisa landed on Grigg’s head but his header went just past the post.

Eisa scored his second of the game to put the away side in front just seven minutes into the second half, after a through ball from Josh McEachran landed at his feet with his strike similar to the first, leaving Ross Doohan with no chance.

Not long after McEachran and Peart-Harris were handed bookings on different occasions for a couple of mistimed tackles.

Eisa had the chance to bag a hat-trick approaching the hour mark but he couldn’t finish his chance after the ball was dragged back to the penalty spot to meet his outstretched leg - and the ball went way wide of the post.

With 20 minutes to go, substitute Regan Hendry came close to an equaliser but his effort from outside the box was saved magnificently by Jamie Cumming. Bakayoko also had the chance to equalise soon after but his header sailed just over the bar.
