Rovers failed to overcome Barrow at the innocent New Lawn, losing 2-0 as the Bluebirds confirmed their safety in Sky Bet League Two.
First-half goals from Scott Quigley and Bobby Thomas secured all three points for Rob Kelly's side, and left FGR outside the play-off places with two matches remaining.
Jimmy Ball made one change to the starting line-up from Saturday's stalemate with Crawley Town, as Jake Young entered the fold in the place of Nottingham Forest loanee Jayden Richardson.
Barrow started the match the brigther of the two sides, and duly took the lead in the opening moments of the encounter. Burnley loanee Thomas was brought down on the edge of the penalty area - and referee Paul Howard pointed to the spot. Quigley stepped up, and sent Luke McGee the wrong way from the spot.
Less than ten minutes later and the visitors doubled their advantage heading into the break. A superb reaction stop from McGee was bundled home at the far post from Thomas, and sent the visting dugout into raptures.
