Rovers unbeaten start under Jimmy Ball continued with a 0-0 draw against Exeter City at the innocent New Lawn.
Interim Head Coach Ball kept the same starting eleven from Saturday's win over Scunthorpe United - with just one change on the bench, as Jack Evans replaced Taylor Allen.
Rovers started the encounter in a similar fashion to the weekend's victory, clearly on the front foot and keen to notch an early lead. Ebou Adams latched onto a pass inside the penalty area - but his effort was denied by the outstretched leg of Jokul Andresson.
Moments later and it was Ball's side who managed to carve another clear-cut chance to take the lead. With space on the edge of the penalty area, Aaron Collins turned and guided his chance marginally wide of the mark, leaving Andresson rooted to the spot.
Perhaps in the first half Rovers were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty. When a long ball appeared to bounce off the arm of Lewis Page, referee Robert Madley failed to give the spot-kick and waved away the appeals from the Rovers players.
Minutes before the break and referee Madley adjudged another foul in the box not to be worthy of a penalty. Just yards in front of goal, Dom Bernard appeared to have been fouled before taking his shot - but once again, nothing was awarded.
Matt Taylor's visitors were forced to change their system at the break following FGR's first-half dominance - and started to apply pressure within the opening stages. A whipped cross into the area for substitute Pierce Sweeney saw the defender glance his effort inches wide of the far post.
The final twenty minutes proved to be end-to-end stuff - and no one could've predicted how the match was going to finish. Former Grecian Jayden Richardson picked up a clearance from a corner - firing his effort onto the crossbar, before Jack Sparkes burst forward before being stopped in his tracks.
Full of fight and determination. This Rovers side are out there to win - and very nearly claimed all three points in added time. Derby loanee Isaac Hutchinson tried his luck from distance, stinging the palms of Grecians stopper Andresson, but it proved to be the final opportunity - as both teams shared the points.
