Rovers played out an entertaining goalless draw with Exeter City at St James Park.
Rob Edwards made two changes from last weekend's match with Port Vale. Exeter-born Jordan Moore-Taylor and Nicky Cadden returned to the starting line-up for the encounter in Devon.
Rovers could have raced into the lead within the opening ten minutes, and started the match brightly. Top scorer Matty Stevens almost turned provider, sending a through ball into the area for Kane Wilson but he was denied by Grecians stopper Cameron Dawson.
Moments later - and the visitors were frustrated to not find the target once again. Dan Sweeney sent a header across goal looking for Jamille Matt and Jack Aitchison, only for the Rovers' attackers to both fail to fire home from close range.
Edwards' men were arguably in control of the match's early stages - and midway through the first-half once again had a gilt-edge chance to take the lead. Wilson pinged a superb ball into the penalty area for Aitchison, but unaware of Exeter man Josh Key, who stormed in at the last minute to deny him.
Exeter's best opportunity in the first-half was in the latter stages added time. Former MK Dons man Sam Nombe found his way into the box - and Ben Stevenson was on hand with a last-ditch tackle to deny him.
The Grecians didn't take long from the restart to create another chance. Nombe ran through on goal - and guided his effort just wide of the mark.
Just a few minutes later and Rovers almost found themselves in front. Jamille Matt was played through on goal from Sweeney, threading a pass through the Grecians defence to find him - but Dawson was equal to his effort.
Perhaps the best effort for Rovers fell to Baily Cargill. The Rovers defender picked up a deflection inside the penalty area - and fired his volley a yard wide of the mark.
