Forest Green Rovers suffered defeat away to Burton Albion after conceding late on to lose 3-2 at the Pirelli Stadium.

Head Coach Ian Burchnall named five changes from our last outing as Corey O’Keeffe and Christian Marques returned to the starting XI.

Rovers found themselves behind early on in Staffordshire when Victor Adeboyejo rose highest to meet Tom Hamer’s cross before powering his header past the helpless Luke McGee.

And they very nearly had a second 10 minutes later as centre-back Sam Hughes found himself in acres of space at the back post, but he could only header wide.

It was an uneventful opening 45 after that which saw Rovers' only main threat on the Brewers goal come through Kyle McAllister on the quarter hour mark, as his deflected shot went over the bar.

Into the second half and Rovers came out of the blocks quickly and looked much livelier as they searched for a way back into the clash.

And they did exactly that on 52 minutes when O’Keeffe did well down the right before teeing up Reece Brown to curl home his second of the season.

15 minutes later Rovers were handed a massive chance to take the lead when McAllister played through substitute Josh March who was brought down in the box by Hamer.

Spot kick to Rovers and a red card for the Brewers defender, reducing them to 10 men.

Connor Wickham stepped up to take the penalty which he blasted down the middle to put Rovers in front for the first time of the afternoon.

Rovers looked to find a third but were pegged back 10 minutes from time when Adeboyejo netted his second volleying home from close range.

And it would be a heart breaking end to the game for FGR as Adeboyejo curled a stunner into the top corner in injury time to secure his hat trick and the points for the hosts.
