FGR Ambassadors

The FGR Ambassador scheme has been proudly supported by Grundon since 2015. If you're a young person who loves FGR, why not become one of our ambassadors?

Every year, we recruit a team of young ambassadors to spread the word about what it’s like supporting FGR and all the great things we do on and off the pitch. It’s an exciting role, and a great way to get involved with the club.

At the moment, we have about 100 ambassadors representing FGR in around 60 schools and colleges throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding area.

Get the inside track on FGR

As a member of the FGR Ambassadors Scheme, you’ll get to go behind the scenes at the club. We’ll show you how sustainability works in practice at FGR and you’ll learn about how our players train and prepare for matches.

Represent FGR in your community

You’ll get an FGR shirt to wear with pride and share your experiences at the club with your classmates, teachers, family and friends. We’ll organise away trips for you to take part in, and you’ll complete a programme of activities during the season including writing FGR match reports and keeping a diary covering the things you do with the club and the ways that you promote FGR at your school. Being an advocate and standing up for the things you believe in is a great way to learn work and social skills you’ll use later in life.

Player visits, tours and tickets

As an ambassador, you’re encouraged to promote the club and invite members of your class, club or community group to FGR matches. And you’ll get the chance to invite an FGR player to your school where they’ll talk about their career, what it’s like being a role model and the importance of dedication and hard work.

Recognition for your work

At the last home game of the season, we hold an awards ceremony on the pitch. Ambassadors are thanked for their hard work and commitment over the season and there’s even a few medals for those that go the extra mile. Our ambassadors make an important contribution by linking the club with the local community and this a great way for the club and all of our fans to say thank you.

FGR Ambassadors Alumni

After you've served as an FGR Ambassador, why not join our Ambassadors Alumni? You'll get to continue your involvement with the club as a community champion and take part in programmes that help you develop the skills to become a leader of the future.

Some of the activities you'll take part in include fund raising, supporting our young Ambassadors and volunteering on FGR Community projects. The first challenge we do with the Alumni is an enterprise project. We'll give you £10 and ask you to execute a plan that turns it into a profit, then report back on how you did it.

Our Ambassadors Alumni have an important voice in the club and in the community. So, for example, when you've completed our enterprise project we'll ask you to decide how that money is spent on events held at FGR during the summer months.

The Alumni also work as a team to raise money for other charities.

To get involved with the FGR Ambassadors Alumni, email community@fgr.co.uk.
